We’re often asked how we teach music to children as young as six months.
The short answer: With ease.
The longer one:
We Inspire Them - we have three classically trained musicians in each class, instruments
from the orchestra and professional singers.
We Understand Them – we’ve taken the time to study how children learn and how to engage them.
We Get To Know Them – our ratios mean we can spend time with each child and make sure our enthusiasm rubs off on them.
We Involve You – our classes are a shared experience as studies show children learn better this way.
The Little London Music School was founded in 2011, by Rachael de Mestre after she realised there was a gap in the market for a comprehensive music program for pre-schoolers.
“The aim of our classes is to teach babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers how to understand music and therefore how to appreciate it – there’s nothing quite like it out there.”
Rachael is as passionate about performing, as she is about teaching. She performed her first professional opera at eleven, toured the world with a musical at sixteen, studied classical and musical theatre to postgraduate level and has been in professional productions and concerts the world over.
The Power of Music and the Missing Link
Studies have shown that active learning and social interaction are needed if exposure to music is to enhance the cognitive, emotional and social development of babies and young children. That’s why at The Little London Music School you’ll only hear live music, teachers will interact with you and your children and you’ll be asked to join in too.
